On the road with Cantiamo. Normally you see me scurrying around the stage placing mikes and providing stage direction or assisting Jackie at weekly practices. Saturday I had the pleasure of chauffeuring the choir to Montreal for their concert with the Montreal English School Board Corale. This service was provided under charter with my employer, Voyago.
Departure time was 7:15 am and thanks to dedicated parents, we departed on time. It was a joy to carry a bus full of talented if not tired young women, a serene journey very different from my Monday to Friday school runs. We arrived in Montreal just prior to 10:00 and in short order dresses were distributed and the choir was on their way to practice.
It was strange not to be working out logistics of risers and positioning. There were times when I had to remind myself that this is not my venue. As usual, your daughters were the consummate professionals that make Cantiamo such a pleasure to work with.

During lunch and afternoon downtime it was wonderful to see the girls interacting, either in small intimate groups or as larger loose knit groupings. The girls seemed quite comfortable to take the downtime to read, catch up on homework, listen to music or catch a few zzz’s. Curtain call came and everyone was ready to perform as only Cantiamo can, professionally.

Once the concert was over, it was back into comfy clothes and the bus for the return trip. With a short stop in Hudson for food, the trip was uneventful.
Thanks to the chaperones for their guidance, the girls for being what they are, the best and to Jackie and Laura, the dynamic duo for providing the rich environment that allows these talented young women to excel.
