Cantiamo Sings World Premiere at Spring Concert

by Georgia B.

The Cantiamo June concert was a blast! A large audience enjoyed a variety of songs in the beautiful place of Dominion-Chalmers United Church. As well as performing the World Premiere of Respira by composer, musician (and Cantiamo parent) Stephen Eisenhauer, we sang a number of pieces, including The Arrow and the Song by Laura Hawley and Scat Cat, conducted by graduating Cantiamo chorister Emily Poulsen. We also said goodbye to Laura Hawley as she moves on to other pursuits.

I would like to say thank you to Nick and Laura for being excellent accompanists, thank you to the Rideau String Quartet for helping us make Respira an amazing song to sing, thank you to Emily for conducting Scat Cat, and thank you to Jackie for being an absolutely amazing conductor and person and for making Cantiamo the highlight of my week.
