What do you get when you combine 85 voices, ranging in age from 8 to 85? An afternoon of choral artistry, shared community, joyful harmony and musical collaboration! Cantiamo Choirs of Ottawa’s Training Choir and Apprentice Girls Choir came together with Chorale Entre-Nous Choir in an exciting bilingual concert, entitled Chantons!
The link between Cantiamo and Chorale Entre-Nous is a natural fit. Cantiamo Choirs of Ottawa is an organization focusing on choral education and development of integrity and empathy through community music making. And Chorale Entre-Nous is an organization consisting primarily of retired teachers, who continue to focus on life-long learning.

Filled with variety, our concert highlighted the unique sound quality of each of the choirs, and also brought the choirs together for several massed works. We journeyed through languages and musical styles, forging connections through music.

Our inter-generational concert concluded with a beautiful piece, featuring a small ensemble of grandparents singing with their grandchildren – a perfect ending for an afternoon filled with connection.
