The Cantiamo Girls Choir of Ottawa and Elise Letourneau Music present the World Premiere of “The Virgin Mary to the Child Jesus”, a new cantata composed by Elise Letourneau. Set to text by Elizabeth Barrett Browning, this beautifully intimate poem – alternately tender and fierce – is sung from the perspective of a new mother holding her baby on their first night together. Also featuring: Ellen McAteer, soprano soloist; Laura Hawley, piano; Joan Harrison, cello; and Elise Letourneau, flute. The choir will perform additional seasonal selections.
