Nick Rodgerson is a freelance pianist and teacher based in Ottawa. He holds a Master’s degree from the University of Ottawa, and was a student of Stephane Lemelin and David Jalbert. Nick earned his Bachelor of Music at Dalhousie in Halifax, graduating with its 2005 University Medal in music. Nick has participated as a young artist in a number of chamber music festivals in Paris, Toronto, Halifax, and St. John’s. His past concerto appearances have included works by Rachmaninov, Chopin, Prokofiev, Ravel, and Bach. An enthusiast of vocal music, Nick currently accompanies the vocal studios of Maghan McPhee, Wanda Procyshyn, Cara Gilbertson, and Kim Schonning. As a choral accompanist he also works with the Ottawa Children’s Choir, the Canadian Centennial Choir, and the University of Ottawa Choir. Nick is the artistic director of the Sundays at St John’s recital series, featuring his monthly collaborations with vocal soloists, and diverse instrumentalists on saxophone, cello, violin, and bassoon.
