Uniform & Concert Attire

Cantiamo consists of four choirs beginning at the age of 5 through to age 19, and ranging in musical development from very beginner to accomplished. As such each choir has its own unique uniform and concert attire that suits the age of the choristers and level of performance, but also complement each other so that together the choirs are unified as Cantiamo.

 Cantiamo Girls Apprentice Choir

Fit: The dress should have a relaxed-feel, hang slightly loose off the body. The length is close to or just at the knee.

  • Black flat, low heel, closed-toe shoe

  • Hair elastics, ties or bands should match the colour of the chorister’s hair

  • Nude or skin tone undergarments

 Cantiamo Girls Choir

Fit: The dress should fit comfortably but not tight to the body. When in shoes the dress should smoothly fall down to the top of the toe.

Uniform & Concert Dress Fitting, Ordering & Payment

Cantiamo contacts all of the new and returning choristers in mid-August to remind you of the upcoming sale in September of t-shirts, golf shirts and concert dresses. This would also be a good time to check your items for size and condition to determine if they are performance-ready for the season.

Care of the Concert Dress

  • Gentle wash in cold water

  • Hang to dry, do not put in the dryer

  • Pressed/Iron on medium heat or use a fabric steamer

  • Can be dry cleaned – request solvent-free dry cleaning

  • Store on hanger in a garment bag

Primary and Training Choir: For all choristers in these choirs; you will have an opportunity to purchase a new or lightly used t-shirt or golf shirt at the first rehearsal in September. Samples and extras are available at that time to try on, and additional sizes will be ordered as needed and handed out by the end of September.

Apprentice Choir and Girls Choir: For all choristers in these choirs; Your golf shirt purchase and your concert dress fitting will occur on “Uniform Wednesday”. This is the first Wednesday of the first rehearsal week in September. Choristers needing a new concert dress will be fitted (using sample sizes) order is placed and payment is collected at this time. Note: for returning choristers who may have outgrown their dress, there is a limited number of used concert dresses available to purchase.
